3 months!

I can't believe the time is going by so fast. It has been 3 months since our little Alden was born! He continues to get chunkier and chunkier! He is just the funniest kid ever!

he stole Jared's glasses

Hanging onto the leg of his singing frog.

He loves watching Jared play video games.

Fell asleep on election night.

getting ready for nap time. he always gets his hands in these random poses. :)

going on a walk with mom and dad. he loves going on walks. it's going to be hard with the cold weather coming in.

always so smiley.

:)

in his swing. with his two elephants. he always grabs onto them and holds them while he sleeps.

He is just an amazingly good baby. He has been sleeping 10 hours through the night. :) It makes me SUPER happy. He is ALREADY teething... ugh. He only takes two short naps during the day... bah. He laughs so much!! It's so cute! He loves taking baths, he is always splashing all over. He loves looking at himself in a mirror. We have just been loving on him as much as we can.
I got a job driving school bus for Nebo School District and I'll be working 6-8 hours a day. Alden will stay with my mom... and Jared will be doing school. So it'll be interesting to see how it goes... but we gotta do what we gotta do.

We had a fun Halloween. We carved pumpkins. :) It's a tradition for us now. And we are really excited for it.

Alden helped us carve pumpkins!

Our Thanksgiving was wonderful. We spent it with my family. We played football. Had a great dinner... and of course pie. :) Although this year we only made 8 pies... I didn't take pictures... bummer.
We are gearing up for the last few weeks of the semester and looking forward to Christmas break. We are going out to Carson City to be with Jared's family for Christmas... They haven't met Alden yet. :)
Other than that things are going good. Just being happy and thankful for all we have and for the wonderful families that we are blessed to be around. :) I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday season. :)

Some more pictures:

Updates!!

It has been two months of complete bliss with my little man.

He is too cute.

Always smiling.

Watching Brian Regan... Gotta start 'em young.

In his blessing outfit. He is a stud.

Sunday night... after a long day of spending time with all the family. Sometimes he just cracks me up with the way he position he falls asleep in.

He is the happiest, most adorable, most funny baby ever. He is very alert, and he loves to have conversations with us. It makes my life to wake up every day and see his sweet smile.  We had Alden blessed on Sunday the 14th. We had ALL of our family come. It was a beautiful day. My grandparents were able to come, my parents and ALL of my siblings were there, and Jared's brother, Jim, and his wife Emily and their 3 kids came out from California... Also, Ben and Audrey came with their kids. We had lunch together and we finally did some new family pictures!!! It's been 2 years since we last had everyone together!!! It was a wonderful day, just relaxing and visiting with my family and friends.

Em, best sister in law ever!

My amazing Grandparents. 60 years of marriage. 10 kids. 60 grand children. 57 great-grand children. Best example of hard work, love, and support. LOVE them.

Miss Lorin. :)

Hanging out after lunch.

Grandpa playing with Russell and Hannah.

All the grand kids love grandpa. He is so funny.

Eating lunch and chatting.

We had Jim and Emily here for 5 days. It was really fun to have them here and to have them be able to meet Alden. We went and spent some time in Provo, and we went to the Manti Temple, and we just had a good time together.

Walking around the temple. Lorin, Jasper, and Erin. Cutest kids.

All of us... except Jim and Em.

Gorgeous Temple.

Cute kids.

Love this place.

Jared and I also spent Conference weekend organizing our house.... FINALLY. After a year, we have our whole house organized and deep cleaned... and I finally got all my curtains hung. :) I'm just a little slow.

Bathroom.

Alden's soon to be nursery. Right now the dresser is also his changing table.

Also, today Jared and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary. On Saturday we got to go to the Drive-In movie to the "The Trouble With the Curve". Jim and Emily watched Alden for us... it was weird to not have him with us... but it was a great time for me and Jared to just enjoy being together. Plus it was an AWESOME movie.
It is crazy to think that it has already been a year since that amazingly wonderful day... but it feels like we have been together for a lot longer than that. I am so excited to spend the rest of eternity with my best friend. Jared is the best person I know. He is continually surprising me with how thoughtful and caring he is, not just for me and for Alden, but for everyone he knows. He is always doing the dishes, or the laundry, or just hanging out with Alden so I can get a nap... Or volunteering to help the neighbors with something... on top of all his classes and homework and having to do clinical rotations. He is the best father, and the most caring husband. I'm so thankful that Heavenly Father prompted me to go to Alaska, even though I thought it was for me to earn money so that I could serve a mission. :) I've never been so thankful for being so wrong... And for Jared. For being that man that I needed to meet. And for being the man that he is. I love him more than anything. Here's to many, many more years of love... not to mention ETERNITY!

And here are our family photo's from this weekend. :)

Overall it has been an amazing 2 months. I did have my gallbladder removed on the 25th of September. After a few days of being pretty sore, and then about a week of mild discomfort, I am feeling SOOOOO much better. No more pain after meals... no more random pain attacks. It is GLORIOUS!!! I'm hoping that I won't have any more problems. I haven't noticed any intolerance to certain foods, which I was worried about. But we'll see how it goes. Thing continue to go well. Little man is a hungry little hippo. He sometimes eats every hour. He has been sleeping almost though the night. He only wakes up for one feeding/changing. He will fall asleep around 7 or 8pm and won't wake up until 2 or 3am. Then he will sleep from then until 8 or 9am. It is amazing. And I sleep so good. :)
Jared is liking school, although he does have a lot of homework. He has a late class on Tue/Thur. And it sucks having him gone all the time, but I know that he is doing this so that we can have a better future. Life is good. It continues on the upward spiral. The Lord is great to us and we are ever thankful. We know as long as we continue to do what we are supposed to do.

Much love,
Rachel Lynn
